We brewed our very first international collab with First craft beer from Budapest, Hungary.
We made a barleywine using an English yeast. The grainside contains some unmalted barley, and we added some candy sugar to keep the sweet character of barleywine alive.
A new hop became available which really suits this brew: HBC630, of which we used a bag in the whirlpool. This hop gives lots of aromas from different fruits, mostly on the berry side. So think blackberry, raspberry and a little bit of cherry.
It was fermented with WLP002, English Ale yeast, which adds fruit candy and banana aroma to the brew.
It’s a barley wine, really, berrily wine.
